In the summer months in 2021 there remains a continuing level of uncertainty in how our social service will be able to include the significant human connection experienced by Rotary participants in the past. Even though the "hands in space" principle is certainly a an integral part of our routine it is clear that the confidence in Rotary is increasing and more people are making acquaintances in person. But Rotary has changed. As we move into in the summer of 2021 and the uncertainty regarding how Rotary can provide the same human connection which Rotary members had in the past continues. While the "hands looking outwards" idea is likely to be a part of the daily routines in the club There's no doubt that the feeling of security is developing and more people are making face-to faces connections. Rotary is changing. The Rotary network helps build friendships which last. The pandemic served as an impetus for us to take on the latest technology. We have sharpened up the way we conduct meeting online for business' whilst reintroducing activities for service and social using a friendly face-toface approach. Our newfound opportunities have combined with our lessons from our previous pandemics to provide a brand new outlook for Rotary. In a recent Rotary survey it was heartening to learn that about 75 percent of clubs are planning for their business as usual' initiatives" The warmer months have seen many participants out and about focusing on various projects like cleaning the beach and river, litter picking, and of course providing ongoing services to the society of Rotary volunteer teams who give their time and energy to help COVID vaccine and test centers. I am equally proud that Rotary Support Centre continues to provide valuable resources. Rotary Support Centre team continues to supply valuable information and resources which help to promote these initiatives and to keep the facilities that keep our members and public secure Compliance and insurance are essential. We are aware that volunteering via the community of Rotary will create lasting bonds based upon the experience shared of volunteering time to serve the community benefits. The imagination and creativity of our members to find solutions to some of the most difficult challenges is incredible and I am so very happy that the chance to join Rotary was offered to me in the year 2002. Much like many, Rotary members, it has given me a strong trustworthy group of people who are like-minded who have formed genuine relationships developed over these almost 20 years. It is important to invite our friends and family to Rotary to positively impact the world.
