Burns began her professional career on television in 1995, as the character Peg as a supporting role on the Spanish American teen comedy Out of the Blue (from 1995-1996). Burns became a participant in Baywatch, an action-drama series in 1998. The following year, she appeared on the show as Baywatch: Hawaii. Burns then left Baywatch because of her first pregnancies.
